West Nottingham AcademyRight now, the world has already lost 27% of its coral reefs, sea-level rise is stripping us of miles of coastlines, 60% of species have been lost since 1970, and the last 5 years have been the hottest on record. By 2030, when current WNA students are anywhere between 24 and 30 years old, the United Nations IPCC reports that the globe will have warmed by at least 1.5 degrees C (2.7 degrees F) over preindustrial temperatures, commensurately increasing the risk and frequency of extreme droughts, wildfires, floods, and food shortages for millions of people.
